Internet speed test

Measure your internet connection

– Mbps

Check the speed of your Wi‑Fi, fibre or mobile data in a few seconds. Tap “Start” and the test measures download, upload and latency, including latency under load. No sign-up needed, and you can install it as an app on Android, iPhone or desktop.

How it works

For a few seconds the test downloads and uploads random data from a Cloudflare server — or from this website’s own server if Cloudflare is unavailable — and calculates the average speed once the initial ramp-up is over. Latency is the time a small request takes to go and come back; jitter is how much it varies. Everything is measured from your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What does Mbps mean?

Mbps stands for megabits per second, the unit used for connection speed. To get megabytes per second, divide by 8: 80 Mbps is about 10 MB/s.

Why is my speed lower than what I pay for?

Wi‑Fi signal, other connected devices, the distance to the test server and network load at that moment all play a part. For a better reading, connect by cable or move closer to the router and stop other downloads.

How much data does the test use?

It depends on the mode chosen in Settings: Saver uses up to about 50 MB, Normal up to about 600 MB and Maximum accuracy up to about 2,000 MB, download and upload combined. On touch devices Saver is the default.
